Joey Oliver, DPT

oey grew up in Halifax County, Virginia and earned his doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Lynchburg in 2024. After completing his final clinical rotation at Phoenix Physical Therapy’s Richmond clinic, he joined the team in June of 2024. Prior to beginning PT school, Joey spent time working in an outpatient physical therapy clinic as an aide, teaching GED math and science to underserved students, and tutoring college students in anatomy and physiology. Joey enjoys connecting with his patients and helping them increase function and reduce pain to get the most out of life. He uses a combination of manual techniques and functional exercises, with an emphasis on strengthening to help patients maximize function and return to the activities they love to do. Outside of the clinic, Joey enjoys participating in weightlifting and rock climbing and is active in his local church.
