Melissa attended University of Maryland College Park for her undergraduate degree and then graduate school at University of Maryland Eastern Shore for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Over 12 years of experience Melissa has obtained certifications in Dry Needling, Vestibular (American Institute of Balance) and Lymphedema (Klose) treatments. She is also able to treat TMJ, Balance, Concussion, Neurological disorders and orthopedics.
Melissa also has many years experience with worker compensation. She is able to complete functional capacity exams, complete pre-employment screens and work conditioning. Her passion is helping to increase patients’ quality of life and function. She believes in individualized care for all patients. Each patient’s deficits are unique and it is important to meet them where they are at this time and continue towards their goals. She has experience in a variety of settings and populations which allows her to bring a variety of different tools to approach patient care. She believes that therapy should focus on improving not only a patient’s deficits, but also their quality of life on a daily basis.
When not in the clinic Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and 5 children camping and at the beach.
