Shilpa Rao , DPT

Shilpa’s love for sports, movement, and the sciences led her to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. Shilpa was a classical dancer and an athlete in high school. She continued her sports career at NTR University in India while pursuing her Bachelor of Physical Therapy. Shilpa received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Arcadia University.

Shilpa initially spent two years specializing in orthopedics in India. Her interest in orthopedic physical therapy grew through working alongside talented orthopedic/sports physical therapists. Shilpa has spent the last three years specializing in shoulder rehabilitation, especially Reverse Total shoulder replacement/ shoulder surgery,  working alongside leaders in the field of shoulder surgery. Throughout Shilpa’s career as an orthopedic physical therapist, she excelled in treating a wide variety of populations, including those seeking treatment for general musculoskeletal impairments, balance training, post-operative rehab, neurological disorders, return to sport, and injury prevention.

Prior to working in the US, Shilpa worked in India at a joint replacement center and cardiac center, acute care, a skilled nursing facility (two years), an outpatient setting (three years), Apple therapy services, New Hampshire orthopedics, and in-home health PT (one year) and the Cleveland shoulder institute (three years.)
